I didn’t need a BusinessWeek report to tell me that Portland, Oregon is a downer of a place. In fact, it’s the most unhappy city in the nation, primarily due to its suicide and depression rates (unemployment and number of cloudy days per year didn’t help matters).
And I thought being the whitest U.S. city was enough of a claim to fame for my home town. Hmm, seems that they are now #5–what happened?)
But do you know what never fails to cheer me up? ELO! Less Northwest moping and more synthesizers and violins, people!
