I'm all about organization and tidiness, but when it comes to straight up scrubbing and cleaning I'm a little domestically challenged.
I didn't think any harm would come from washing a newish table runner, yet it shrunk a good foot. Does this mean I also can't wash the pillowcase covers I bought at the same time and that appear to be made from the same fabric?
I shrunk a brand new already not that extra large XL J Crew sweater to a S back in December.
While mopping for company, I made the floors even dirtier and none of the sheetrock dust or dirt splotches, the main reason for the mopping in the first place, budged.
I did find a cache of '90s barrettes while cleaning, however. I can't bear to toss them all out even though it's just drug store and mall stuff. The clutter-loather in me would toss them, and everything I come across like them, but the long dormant thrift store shopper in me thinks of coming across old treasures that have had enough time to transform. '90s isn't there yet, but the same was probably said in the early '70s of late '50s crap.
Also, I have not left the apartment since Sunday night because I woke up sick Monday and have felt like a zombie ever since. No idea what happened, but my lungs hurt, my head is full of liquid, I'm extremely tired and my gums and teeth burn (isn't that a sinus infection?) It's 8pm and now I'm going to make coffee and try and wake up to formulate my personal essay topic for the class I'm half-tempted to drop, despite its expense. I can't write like that.
