If you thought I was sick of oddball animal pairings you would be very wrong. Cats taking in orphaned puppies is pretty boring in the scheme of this genre but you must take your heart wrenching interspecies tales where you can find them. I will say that Smaigal is an unusual name for a cat (smurfs, Gargamel and smegma all come to mind instantly) but this is in Jordan so maybe it's common there.
