The Not-So-Mysterious Ways Your Body Betrays Itself

When I went to the library during lunch to pick up my travel reading material, Kevin Sampsell’s, Common Pornography (I’ve taken to reading downer memoirs on sunny vacations), I glanced at the other books on the hold shelf. Someone with an H last name had Women and Autoimmune Disease: The Mysterious Ways Your Body Betrays Itself waiting for them. So Carroll Gardens.

I found myself Googling fibromyalgia symptoms a few days ago and nipped that nonsense in the bud pronto. The last thing I want is one of those pseudo-diseases that only educated, non-poor white women get. I would much prefer something tangible and populist like gout or chlamydia.
