R.L. Stine has been making the rounds lately: NYT
& NYM. I'm still in disbelief that the Goosebumps maestro is the same guy
who charmed my childhood with '70s Scholastic humor books written under a
different pen name.
Goosebumps are like the Baby-sitters Club to me, both series launched when I was in high school already. I'm aware of their existence and impact on now-adults a decade younger than I am, but that's about it. Lois Duncan was the prolific scary YA author of my youth. I always love how books can stay in circulation for four decades, i.e. I Know What You Did Last Summer with only changes to the cover illustrations.
