It was brought to my attention some time ago that Henry Thomas
will be in a fall TV series, Betrayal. This was sort of interesting because
despite his Mentalist appearance whenever that was, he's always been more of a
C-movie type than TV actor.
It became more personally interesting this week when I saw
his character described as "mentally challenged." Ahem, might
one say retarded? No, no, of course not.
No one would ever say such a thing.
From what I've gleaned online in a very cursory search is
that Henry plays James Cromwell's son. The family is
rich and ruthless and T.J. a.k.a. H.T. was meant to inherit money or run the
business (not sure which business?) or something legacy-like but got in a car
accident and is now brain damaged.
The thing is he looks able-boded and like Henry Thomas, so what
they're saying is that Henry appears mentally challenged naturally? I've only seen stills and an interview on Access Hollywood so I don't know if perhaps he speaks or moves in a challenging way.
This is going into my DVR immediately.
