It’s official: Henry Thomas has become a creepy guy actor. Last year it was a killer on Without a Trace, now it’s a killer on CSI, both shows I’ve never watched in my life. No Law & Order? Couldn’t he be a creepy guy on a show that actually matters?
Michael Emerson’s Benjamin Linus on Lost is a perfect creepy guy. Garret Dillahunt is a good creepy cyborg-in-training on The Sarah Connor Chronicles (I really love that show, dopey as it is—I’m a sucker for post-apocalyptic drama). Zachary Quinto’s Sylar is a high profile creepy guy on Heroes. At this point, I would settle for a shadowy unnamed creepy guy in the background of 24 or Damages.
I think Henry’s fate was sealed when he played an accused child molester in 1995’s made-for-cable Indictment: The McMartin Trial. Once you go creepy, there’s no bouncing back.
