I’m not an online video watcher, but sometimes I see
so many mentions about a particular clip that I cave. I finally clicked on
Gawker’s “Jay-Z Rides the Subway, Adorably Explains Who He Is to an Adorable
Old Lady” last night. Do I care about Jay Z? Not really. And adorably is pretty subjective. The most interesting
part of this Gawker post is a group of commenters’ objecting to the usage of “old
lady” for the woman pictured. The beef being that older isn’t the same as old.
This morning Gothamist had the post with the headline, “Adorable Older Lady
Asks Subway-Riding Jay-Z Who He Is” indicating someone was being cautious, however the URL uses old not older.
